About Winton
Welcome to the world of Winton! If you’re looking for a cheeky sidekick with a heart of gold, Winton is the little adventurer ready to join you on life’s journey. This small mixed breed boy is the perfect blend of playful energy and snuggly affection, always eager to share kisses and cuddles with his favourite people. Whether you’re heading out for a romp in the garden or settling in for a cozy evening on the couch, Winton will be right by your side, tail wagging and eyes sparkling with excitement.
Winton came into care alongside his siblings, and after a recent outbreak of parvo at the pound they came from the 7 of them went straight into 2 weeks isolation. While no parvo eventuated unfortunately for these puppies it was an uphill battle for health until now and they are now fit to find their forever homes. Winton unfortunately had a fractured front toe break and was ordered 3 weeks crate rest by the orthopaedic team he saw. His bone healed perfectly and no further treatment was needed. However, the whole litter had ups and downs health wise and as a result poor Winton has been left with poor vision in his left eye. Full details of this will be provided to any interested party and while we hope the cloudiness will ease and vision improves like all of his siblings, it is not a guarantee so any prospective home will need to be ok with this. He does not let his left eye get in the way of life and acts like any other puppy.
Due to these puppies having a few health issues to start, they are a little behind in exposure and socialisation. They have been living all together with 3 resident dogs and amazing foster carers who have been doing as much as they can given the circumstances. Winton is a seriously fantastic puppy and anyone who meets him falls in love, but his development is more like a 10 week old puppy rather than a 4 month old puppy , so prospective owners will need to be happy to start from basics. In return, this boy will be the most loyal, funny and affectionate puppy.
It was clear from the start that Winton thrives on companionship—both human and canine. He’s a social butterfly who adores playtime with other dogs, but he’s equally content soaking up attention from his humans. His playful antics and love of sprinting around the yard are sure to keep you entertained, and his adventurous spirit means he’s always up for exploring new places (especially if there’s a car ride involved—he travels beautifully!).
This little guy is food motivated, making training sessions a breeze. He’s already crate trained and is making great progress with his toilet training, though he’ll need a patient family to help him perfect his skills. Winton’s foster carers have noticed he can sometimes bark at distant objects, especially after experiencing some periods of vision impairment, but he’s quick to settle once he feels safe and reassured.
Winton would thrive in a home with or without another dog, though regular doggie playdates are a must to keep his social skills sharp and his heart happy. He’s a wonderful all-rounder who will fit into most families, provided they’re ready for a puppy’s boundless energy and affection and he does require you to be home most days as he's not suited to being left alone all day. If you’re searching for a loyal, loving, and slightly cheeky companion, Winton might just be your perfect match!
Winton will need to be in a home where he is allowed inside as part of the family, provided a good quality diet and to sleep inside. If you feel you are the right family for our gorgeous scruffy boy, then please fill out an application form from our fetching dogs website and include plenty of detail about the type of home you can provide him. We are so excited for Winton to find his forever home as he is such a special little dude with so much character and love to give.
Additional information: This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
