About Calypso
Say hello to Calypso—the little dog with a big personality! Calypso may be small in stature, but she’s overflowing with confidence, resilience, and a zest for life. This pint-sized princess loves nothing more than being the center of attention, and she’ll happily follow you from room to room, always ready for a cuddle or a game.
Calypso is the ultimate pocket rocket, thriving on affection and human company. She’s been described as resilient and bold—never letting her size hold her back from exploring the world around her. Whether she’s darting around your feet (watch out—she’s quick!) or curling up on your lap for a snooze, Calypso’s presence is guaranteed to brighten your day.
Calypso came into care alongside her siblings, and after a recent outbreak of parvo at the pound they came from the 7 of them went straight into 2 weeks isolation. While no parvo eventuated unfortunately for these puppies it was an uphill battle for health until now and they are now fit to find their forever homes. The whole litter had ups and downs health wise and Calypso spent a whole week under specialist care due to malnutrition and her prognosis due to being a tiny 600g at the time was very very poor. But this amazing girl beat all odds and powered through and is now a cheeky, funny and spirited girl. The whole vet clinic adored her and she is now more than ready to find her forever home. Full details of her health journey will be provided to any interested party, but her vet team have said she is ready to take the next step!
Due to these puppies having a few health issues to start, they are a little behind in exposure and socialisation. They have been living all together with 3 resident dogs and amazing foster carers who have been doing as much as they can given the circumstances. Calypso’s development is more like a 10 week old puppy rather than a 4 month old puppy, so prospective owners will need to be happy to start from basics.
Calypso is crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night, and she’s working hard on her toilet training. Calypso travels well in the car, making her a great companion for outings and adventures. She’s lived happily with cats, dogs and children in her previous foster home and would suit a family who can give her plenty of love and attention. Any resident children will need to be very dog savvy given her tiny size and energetic nature.
While Calypso enjoys the company of other animals, she does not need another dog for company as she is happy to be on her own with human companionship. She will however require a family who can continue her socialisation outside of the home with other people, dogs and places in a gentle and appropriate way. With way, she will need someone home most of the time especially as a puppy. Isn’t return you will gain an affectionate companion who will always be by their side.
She will require a home where she is allowed inside as part of the family and be able to sleep inside. She will require daily exercise and a good quality diet. If you’re searching for a loyal little shadow with a heart of gold, Calypso is waiting to meet you. Fill out an application form from our website and tell us all about the loving home you can offer this special girl!
Additional information: This puppy will be adopted out under a desexing contract that will require the dog to be desexed by a given age. The cost of desexing will be included as part of the adoption fee. A $250 desexing bond will be payable in addition to the adoption fee and will be refunded upon proof of desexing. This process is further discussed with successful applicants.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
