About Mr. O. Von Dobermann
🖤 MR O VON DOBERMANN — SOCIAL, SMART & READY TO BOND || DOB 16.11.23
Meet Mr O — a stunning 17-month-old European Dobermann with a bold presence and a playful, affectionate nature. He's thriving in foster care alongside other Dobermanns and would love a forever home with a stable, desexed female dog for company.
This high-energy boy is fully trained, vaccinated, wormed and desexed, he is also car-ready, toilet trained and is absolutely obsessed with his Chuckit ball.
He’s smart, cheeky (in the best way), sweet and gentle and learning his new environment with all the confidence we had hoped for.
Mr O needs a Dobermann-savvy home with strong leadership, warmth, and continued training support — plus no cats or small dogs due to his size and young bouncy nature. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body.
He’s healthy, and comes with lifetime support from our Dobermann.Club Rescue Network. If you’ve got the heart, experience, and structure he needs, he’ll give you loyalty, laughs, and love in return.
Our young sweet boy's personality is developing well with each passing week.
We're thrilled with his development and appropriate responses to the people and Dobermanns around him. As he settles into rescue life, he has begun to enjoy being with each of our Dobermann females (also looking for homes). Mr O's constant learning of manners and social cues supports his happy and easy-to-manage demeanour; he relishes every opportunity to play and be in their company and is all too keen to grab a ball or toy to share in playtime.
|| Breed: Purebred European (Showline) Dobermann
|| Age: 17 months
|| Gender: Male (desexed)
|| Location: Acton, ACT 2601
|| Health: Clear, no known issues — Pedigree Dobermann
|| Compatibility: Learning about cats and small dogs and practising his impulse control. He's best suited to live with a settled, mature female (Dobermann preferred).
|| Energy Level: High – loves to run and play and cuddle.
|| Living Style: Inside at night, outside periodically but primarily inside during the autumn and winter seasons.
|| While still a puppy, Mr O has not developed his adult coat; his current coat is short and soft; therefore, his tolerance to cold weather is very low.
|| A wardrobe of coats and undercoats, warm beds and protective draught-free spaces are a requirement of new potential homes.
Mr O has a striking presence and a spark of independent charm. He’s confident and lively and thrives in a home that values both affection and structure. Currently living and learning about small dogs and cats, he prefers larger playmates.
Due to his age, he will exhibit puppy-like behaviours with smaller animals who may be hurt during play; therefore, we'd love to find him a home with a stable, desexed, large-breed lady. He is missing the companionship of another Dobermann and would benefit from the company of a similarly sized, balanced canine companion.
Mr O is a social lad with no health issues and comes from a reputable, registered breeder. His need to find a new home is through no fault of his own — a change in circumstances prevailed. He’s well-mannered in and out of the house and continues to enjoy his training through social activities, including walking in suburbs and experiencing life he has missed out on.
Mr O has had an allergic reaction to poor-quality dry kibble food; notably, his eyelids are a little inflamed, and they currently present as shiny due to eye ointment. His current vet treatment notes this is a temporary condition not indicative of long-term issues.
Diet is important for Dobermanns, and low-quality kibble for 100% of meals is not recommended.
Mr O, like every other Dobermann in our care, is fed strictly on raw food now and for his lifetime. Raw feeding forms part of our adoption contract alongside no dog parks, et al.
We provide you with his diet and how to procure and make his economically viable food, plus a daily routine of feeding and an activity programme.
This young lad will flourish in a home with:
✔ Experienced Dobermann owners
✔ Dog experienced mature home environment
✔ Dog experienced professionals
✔ No cats or small dogs.
✔ Dedicated daily and weekly time providing patience and leadership to help him settle and mature.
✔ A commitment to continuing his structured training and enrichment
What You’ll Love About This Boy:
|| Loyal & Affectionate: She forms deep bonds with her people, gives affection generously, and settles beautifully after exercise.
|| Training Foundation: He understands core commands like “Sit”, “Wait”, “Come”, and more — and is currently working on calmness around cats and other distractions.
|| Car-Ready Adventurer: He jumps into the car, ready to continue learning about park trips — though she will chase kangaroos if the opportunity arises (a common Dobermann instinct).
|| Play Style: He’s obsessed (in the best way!) with Chuckit balls — returning each ball, learning to drop the ball and repeating the game, he's doing great! Good listening skills.
|| Cheeky, Not Destructive: His only mischief? He currently doesn't love fluffy beds and is particular with his bedding types, including his dislike for fleece sheets, large knit blankets and round beds.
|| Toilet trained: This boy is squeaky clean and loves clean beds, coats and environments. He thrives on soft toy play and loves to be with his caretakers.
|| Pack Dynamics: We are immersing this boy with Dobermanns currently in care to give him exposure to all the personalities so he can experience and learn manners and social cues. This is so important for his immediate future and long-term social manners and health.
Mr O is a fantastic fit for an at-home owner who can offer time, engagement, and steady leadership — someone who understands or deeply desires to love this breed; in turn, you will enjoy a smart, often cheeky companion with a deeply loving nature.
All adoptees receive lifelong support from us, and Mr O's new family will be welcomed into our Dobermann.Club network with structured training guidance and post-adoption follow-up through our Dobermann programme.
|| If you think your home is the right one for Mr O, reach out today. He’s ready for his next chapter — could it be with you?

Adoption details
We always correspond with an adoption form first, which requires pictures of the homes fences, and areas the dog will be contained.
We follow up with a phone call, to discuss your application and build a relationship with you so we get to know your needs and that of the Dobermann we may have in mind for your situation.
We will do a home check before we approve the adoption and a second phone call/facetime to finalize any outstanding question you or we may have.
We will ask for your vet's name and contact details as a reference.
Once we approve the adoption, the fee is paid, and we generate the paperwork in compliance with local councils and registration pertinent to each state where the approved home is.
