Hi, I’m Beckham 🐾

I’m a 23kg bundle of energy, personality and enthusiasm. I’ve got my basic training sorted, I walk beautifully on the lead, and I’m always ready to jump in the car for the next adventure.
I’ve been waiting a while now… and honestly, I can’t quite work out why.
Too much dog for one person? My stunning good looks? My enthusiasm for life? 😄
I LOVE my toys. Like… really, really love them.
Squeaky toys are my absolute favourite — I’ll happily guard them from other dogs, but you humans? You can have them (temporarily 😉).
Water play? Yes please.
Walks? Even better.
Car rides? I’m already in.
I’m a confident boy and pretty switched on — I respect boundaries (baby gates are no problem), I’m crate trained, house trained, and I’ve got the whole “good boy” thing mostly nailed…
I just get a bit springy when I’m excited. Life is exciting, okay?!
I’m especially fond of the blokes — what can I say, I know my audience 😎
But I bond strongly with my people, whoever they are, and I’ll happily keep an eye on the yard and let you know if anything’s going on.
My ideal home?
Probably one where I can be your main man. I can live with other dogs with the right, experienced introduction — but I’m also pretty happy soaking up all the attention myself.
A couple of things to know about me:
1️⃣ I’ve got a bit of a prey drive, so small animals (cats, birds, pocket pets) aren’t my thing
2️⃣ Because I can be a bit enthusiastic, I’m better suited to older kids or an adult home
What I really want is someone who gets me — someone who enjoys a dog with personality, energy and a big heart… and who’ll keep helping me be my best self.
Because once I’m your dog? I’m your dog. Loyal, fun and always ready for whatever’s next.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
If you are interested in one of our cats or kittens, please click on the green "Enquire about ...", button, tell us a bit about yourself and the home you can offer the cat, and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
