About Rebel
This attractive blue merle and tan girl is REBEL, an easygoing and intelligent Blue Cattle Dog x Dachshund. She was born on 22 January 2024 and weighs 16.5kgs.
Rebel embodies the key qualities of a perfect canine companion. She's reliable and loyal, but never needy.
Clever and alert, Rebel has an independent spirit true to her cattle dog roots, and while she may seem a little aloof initially, she quickly warms up and forms strong bonds with her humans.
Rebel is an easy, undemanding dog, who's content to be just near you. You won't find her trying to climb onto your lap - or your laptop - if you're working at home. She's affectionate in a Blue Cattle Dog way - reliably present without being clingy.
Her foster carer has this to say about Rebel:
"This darling girl is anything but a rebel. She should've been called "Rosie" because she is just beautiful. She is perfectly house trained and sleeps through the night. She rarely barks and when she does it's a half-hearted "woof". She will never annoy the neighbours - and she doesn't dig!
"She's as smart as a whip and is super responsive to voice commands. A simple "no" repeated four times was enough to permanently deter her from going into my bedroom. She knows the words "bed", "din-dins, weewees, "walkies".
"Rebel walks nicely on a leash and is particularly fond of sniffing along the way. She travels well in the car.
"She is content in her own company and has no separation anxiety whatsoever. She's not keen on loud noises and who can blame her?
"She's dog-tolerant, but is wary of large boisterous dogs. She's done well in a multi-dog household, but would be perfectly happy as an only dog.
"One final thing...she absolutely loves men!"
Rebel's ideal home will be active, loving and inclusive with a generous backyard and secure fencing.
