About Marmalade and Shadow-fax
Shadow-fax (male) is a distinguished gentleman – affectionate, poised, and always up for a cuddle. He loves human company and will quietly seek out pats and attention with his calm, loving presence.
Marmalade (female) is a sweet and shy little lady with the tiniest meows you’ve ever heard. She enjoys her naps, loves to play, and especially adores playtime with her brother Shadow-fax.
These two are a bonded pair who’ve grown up side-by-side in a loving home environment with cats, dogs, and young children. They’re incredibly gentle, calm, and well-adjusted, making them perfect companions for a peaceful home.
- Desexed and vaccinated
- Litter trained
- Indoor-only since birth
- Great with other pets and respectful children
If you're looking for a pair of low-key, loving companions to fill your home with warmth and gentle joy, Shadow-fax and Marmalade might be the perfect fit.

Adoption details
Begin by reading our adoption FAQs on our website, here:
https://hazelbrookcatshelter.com.au
If you’d like to proceed, fill out an adoption application on our website. Tell us about yourself and the type of cat(s) you are looking for. Feel free to list specific cats that you are interested in, but it is not necessary. Our goal is to be a matchmaker and help you find the right cat for your family and lifestyle.
If we approve your application, will then arrange a video house interview with one of our adoption councillors. This goes for about 15 minutes.
We then arrange a time to meet the cat in person, either at our shelter or their home with their foster carer. Please note we do not move cats from their known environmnent for a meeting.
If all goes well, you can complete the adoption agreement form and pay the adoption fee.
Once the adoption fee has been received, you can take your cat home and begin your 2-week adoption trial.
During this trial, you may return the cat for any reason. Medical expenses will also be covered by our charity. 50% of the adoption fee can be returned if the adoption trial doesn’t work out. It is our requirement that all cats are vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, and flea-and-worm protected prior to this trial, with all their paperwork handed over when collecting your cat.
We provide support as needed around introducing a new cat to your home.
