Meet Zeus, a big-hearted, beautiful boy with a soft spot for his humans. At around 1.5 years old, Zeus is still very much a puppy in a giant’s body. He thrives on affection and will happily climb onto the couch for a cuddle, whether or not there's actually space!
Zeus did not get much exposure to the outside world when he was young, so he can be unsure in new situations. Loud noises, quick movements, or unfamiliar equipment may cause a reaction, so a calm, patient handler is important. He has a moderate prey drive and should not live with cats or small animals.
While generally good-natured, Zeus can forget just how big he is and should be monitored around children. He would do best with a confident, experienced owner who understands large breeds and is committed to ongoing training and clear, consistent boundaries.
Zeus loves attention and is more motivated by praise and touch than treats. He walks well on the lead, though he can get excited when encountering other dogs or scared when encountering things he hasn’t been exposed to much.
He enjoys outings but tires quickly—his energy level is medium to low. When left alone, Zeus does best with tough, durable chew toys to keep him occupied.
Zeus also has strong guarding instincts and will give a deep, rumbling bark or two at the fence—enough to make anyone think twice.
Zeus is $350.00 to adopt and comes desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated, HW tested (negative) and given flea/tick/worm prevention.
