Meet Poppy – From the Streets to the Sofa

Poppy’s story began on the streets, where survival was tough and kindness was rare. She longed for a gentle hand, but people would just turn the hose on her to make her go away. Pregnant far too young, she heartbreakingly lost her ability to feed her babies – but they were rescued, and soon after, it was Poppy’s turn for a second chance.

Since coming into care, Poppy has embraced the life of comfort and love. She’s discovering the joys of a warm bed, regular meals, and gentle human touch – and she’s thriving. Poppy has her favourite chair already and adores cuddles and pats. She’s even learning how to play with toys for the first time – a sight that will melt your heart.

Though she’s still adjusting, Poppy is doing incredibly well as an indoor-only cat. She’s gentle, affectionate, and loves being held. She’s okay with calm, cat-savvy dogs and would likely do best as the only feline in the home. Her past has made her wary of other cats – she won’t start fights, but she’s vulnerable around those who might be defensive or dominant. As for children, she hasn’t met any yet, but would likely be fine with gentle, respectful kids.

Poppy is ready for a forever home where she’ll never be unwanted again – just cherished, safe, and loved.

Poppy's adoption fee is $75 which includes desexing, microchipping, parasite prevention, and initial F3 vaccination.
