Thiccums & Chubby

Meet Thiccums and Chubby – a bonded pair of pigeons that are just lovely to have in your home. Thiccums has beautiful chocolate brown feathers that shimmer in the light, and Chubby has soft, velvety feathers with pretty patterns.

*These two are currently being fostered through Lazzi’s Legacy Bird Rescue & Sanctuary Inc, but all applications and adoption fees will be handled by Freckles Fellowship Pigeon Rescue*

Thiccums is a Carneau x King - traditionally a utility breed (for food), but has now been spoilt with a life of loafing, warmth & cuddling with his small wife. Thicci has a special coo that will both scare and intrigue you - it sounds like a combination of a wind tunnel and a ghost. You will often hear him doing this after lights out.

Chubby is a Barbarsi x - a fancy breed of pigeon with large eyes and a cute little beak. You will often find her cuddled up with Thiccums, nesting in the corner of the cage on infertile eggs or sitting in her food bowl.

Both pigeons love a warm shower or a hose in the summer time - they prefer a 'rain-like' experience rather than a bath. They aren't fussy with their food, and are used to having to finish their bowl so they get all the nutrients they need through both pellets and grain. Thiccums is not much of a flyer, but Chubby does like a flap around.

They aren't a loud or high maintenance pair - but do require their cage to be cleaned regularly. Currently indoors, but able to be moved outdoors in an appropriate loft when the weather is warmer.

Thiccums is DNA sexed MALE & Chubby is DNA sexed FEMALE. Both birds are clear on faecal and chlamydia - and have shown no signs of PMV or other illness. Both birds are up to date on their PMV vaccinations.
