Meet Ruby, a vivacious Kelpie Cross bursting with charm and poise. Born in July 2023, Ruby is a gem of a pup, ready to find a suitable home with plenty of love, companionship, and secure, dog-proof fencing to keep her safe as she explores her surroundings.

Ruby enjoys the company of other dogs if introduced correctly and lives harmoniously with a feline friend, demonstrating her adaptable and friendly nature. Ruby has also shown she's respectful around horses and has shown she could be considered for training as a muster dog. While she may get momentarily excited when spotting wildlife or birds during her adventures, she happily ignores the scrub turkeys when she's at home. Ruby is house-trained and crate-trained, making her an even more delightful companion indoors. When relaxed, Ruby is known for responding beautifully to commands and is eager to learn new ones, making her easy and enjoyable to train.

Though she may initially be wary and bark once or twice when meeting strangers, in time she warms up and allows strangers to pet her. She's just being careful which is typical of her breed, and experienced handlers in vet care, daycare, and boarding facilities agree that Ruby's cautious nature is nothing to worry about; she's simply a young dog learning the ropes but has the potential to thrive in the right environment.

Ruby doesn't bark inside the house and much prefers the company of others over solitude. Unfortunately, being home alone makes her a little anxious, reminding us that her ideal family will have an abundance of love, playtime, and attention to offer.

Rest assured, Ruby is in the best health, having been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and protected against pests and heartworm. Located in Cooktown, she's ready and waiting for a new family who will cherish her lively spirit and sweet presence.
