Latte

Introducing Latte, a charming, edgy little dude. He came into the facility very cautious of almost everything and needed sometime to warm upto us. He would best suit a knowledgeable home with the time and know-how, to help build his self-confidence and let him experience a positive new world. We would love for him to be included in as many everyday activities as possible and so far, he has shown us no concerns towards adults or children 8years and above due to his tendency to get over excited and jump up for a hug!

TRAINING- Latte can already sit on command and loves his tasty food treats! He will need time and effort put towards lead walking, further basic obedience skills and confidence building (socialising) so that he can feel comfortable in his own skin now and into the future.

PLAY/TOYS- Latte loves to play and will happily play with or without you when given the right toy. He is still learning how to share his toy with you so watching those fingers may be necessary!

OTHER DOGS- Latte could be rehomed with a canine companion but will require the influence of a calmer well mannered dog as he tends to mirror another dogs energy and we don’t want him picking up any bad habits. This also means that while he has shown himself to be dog social at the facility we unfortunately cannot test for group dog settings such as a visit to the dog parks, beaches etc. So, if you were hoping to visit these places we would recommend postponing your trip till around 3mths post adoption or until he has had time to settle in, feel comfortable with his recall commands and his bond with his new family.

CATS/OTHER ANIMALS- Latte enjoyed visiting our cats in the cattery but found them to be either too exciting or too scary when they hissed at him. For this reason he may do better not living with other cats within the home environment until he has had some more time to build his confidence.

CARE/GROOMING- Latte has a short but thicker coat and will require weekly brushing, monthly bathing and regular nail clips to keep him looking good. He is ok with all his handling but will need a good routine set up so he begins to enjoy it more.

NUTRITION/EXERCISE- Latte is an energetic young man who would best suit a family that can provide 1-2 walks daily along with games in the backyard and afew mind puzzles just to help keep him on his toes.

Latte is still on a puppy diet and will be for another 6 months atleast. He has been eating well whilst in care and has enjoyed a variety of wet and dry feed options without any tummy upset.
