Meet Ember, a stunning 3-year-old Alaskan Malamute mix who combines the best qualities of his intelligent and independent breed with a gentle, well-behaved nature.

Ember has made remarkable progress in our care, displaying a newfound confidence that reveals his kind and friendly spirit. He is searching for a new home where he can flourish with the love, attention, and structure that he deserves.

Ember's ideal family will have experience with large breeds and understand the importance of ample exercise and mental stimulation. He thrives in situations where he can engage in activities that challenge him both physically and mentally. Regular training sessions will keep him sharp and foster a strong bond with his humans. Ember knows basic commands like "sit" and "paw," and will benefit from ongoing obedience and leash training to refine his manners. He is especially well-suited to homes with older, dog-experienced children, or perhaps an adult-only environment.

Though he once appeared reserved, Ember is now a curious explorer, happily sniffing around and engaging with his surroundings. He is dog-social and could either enjoy the companionship of a compatible canine friend or relish being the sole focus of your affection. However, his mild interest in cats suggests that a feline-free home would be best.

With his luxurious double coat, Ember requires regular brushing to keep his fur looking its best and manage shedding.

Ember is located at our Charmhaven Shelter. His $500 adoption fee covers microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, current vaccination, flea and worming treatments 🐾
