Meet Maia,
Yes, we know – she’s not exactly serving "blue steel" to the camera – but we’re pretty sure this angelic girl doesn’t need to. Why? Because when we took her photo, it was like the heavens themselves cracked open just to spotlight her divine fluffiness. Honestly, we half expected a choir of angels to start singing, too.
Maia might not be one to strike a pose for the camera — she’s more about real moments than perfect pictures. This gorgeous girl is the whole package: friendly, affectionate, and wonderfully easygoing. Maia is the kind of cat who fits in just about anywhere. Whether you're a first-time cat owner or have a full house, she’ll adapt with grace and quiet confidence. She's gentle, independent, and carries herself with a calm, curious spirit that’s hard not to fall in love with.
When Maia arrived at the facility, it was clear she once knew love. She seeks out affection with such warmth that you can’t help but wonder about her story. We don’t know if she wandered too far from home or if someone left her behind — she had no microchip and no one came looking. What we do know is that Maia holds no grudges. She’s full of love and always ready to share it.
She’ll greet you with soft purrs, roll over at your feet, and make the fluffiest biscuits with love in her heart. Maia doesn’t ask for much — just a gentle hand, a warm place to nap, and someone to share her quiet sweetness with.
Maia is open to meet kids of all ages. While she doesn't really like to be picked up (she does tolerate it because she loves attention) but she'd prefer to be on the ground, chair or lounge, next to you getting pats & belly rubs. She also loves to be patted absolutely everywhere - there are zero no-no squares on this girl!
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Maia would go living with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
As for cats, Maia was found with two other, younger cats, and she seems interested in making friends. We encourage anyone with existing cats to do a gradual and supervised introduction over a few days to ensure that both cats have the best chance of becoming friends.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Maia has already experienced living outside - she enjoys being inside where she feels safe. If she is outside, it will increase her chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat she can live her best life possible.
Maia has low mid-range energy levels and doesn't appear to play with toys at all (or at least while she's been with us - this could change in her new home). What we do know is that she loves is pats, cuddles, and being doted upon. She thrives on human interaction and her style of play doesn't include toys - it includes her favourite thing - you!
Maia is not fussy with her food. She is known to eat any food offered to her and she loves treats, too.
Staff Comments: Maia is sweet & quiet. She loves nothing more than rolling around in her condo, purring away and making biscuits. She has a gentle confidence about her which we all adore. She is a very sweet cat who loves people and affection.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C5 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
The adoption fee for cats covers F3 vaccination, health check, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
