Romeo

Romeo is a soulful little Dachshund with a huge heart and even bigger feelings. He's incredibly affectionate with his trusted people and loves nothing more than curling up on your chest for belly rubs and words of encouragement to start the day. Romeo knows what he likes-sniffing everything on walks, snooting for food on the floor, peanut butter Kongs, and attention from strangers-and what he doesn't, like being picked up or overwhelmed.

Outdoors, Romeo is a curious explorer. He enjoys taking his time to investigate the world, and occasionally pauses to sit and ponder life with a thoughtful look on his face. He's toilet trained (with the occasional excitement-wee), sleeps soundly in his donut bed-or preferably on top of you-and wakes up with joyful tippy-tappy feet. Romeo adores other dogs, but is untested with cats.

Romeo forms strong bonds and thrives on companionship. He has separation related distress and will need a calm, understanding home where someone is around all the time during his transition. Romeo is on daily medication to help reduce this anxiety.

Romeo's Home Requirements:
- Adults-only home (no children)
- Someone home full-time, especially in the first month or so of his transition
- Someone who is committed to slowly building his confidence with short absences once he is settled in.
