About Ollie - 6 Month Old Wolfhound X
Hello! My name is Ollie, I am a 6 month old Wolfhound mix and my foster carer says I am the sweetest boy.
You may have heard my story. I had a rough start to life. My brother and I were the sole survivors after our litter was dumped on the side of the road. I was found with fractures to my hip and leg and underwent surgery not long after arriving in care. My bones have healed and my rehab is going well and I am now ready to find my forever home. My forever home will need to be committed to continuing my rehab exercises at home and be available to attend a rehab appointment in Newcastle to learn about his exercises.
I have grown since coming into to care and am currently around 15 kg.
I get along with other dogs, but am also use to being an only dog. A home without another dog is preferred at this point in time. I am looking for a home where I won’t be left alone for full time hours. I want a family that is committed to spending lots of time with me and incorporating me into their daily lives.
Due to my injury and required recovery, I have missed essential puppy socialisation. My foster carer requests that my new family to take me to good manners training.
I am housetrained and need to be allowed inside all the time. I can use a dog door and will take myself outside. I travel well in the car and will sit quietly.
I do have some basic training. I can sit, shake and drop. In addition to good manners training, I could do with some more training walking on a lead. I have just waited so long to be able to get out, that I can get a bit excited. I’m sure I will improve with a consistent walking routine, I am very smart.
As I am a young dog, I do get excited and can jump up initially, so I need a household without small kids. We are looking for a home with children over 10 or no children. I might knock them over, plus I want my new owner all to myself.
I am untested with cats and pocket pets.
Ollie is in foster care near Newcastle, NSW and is not available for adoption interstate. His adoption fee is $600 and he is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms.
