Dobby

Introducing Dobby, a delightful Dachshund who may just win the title of the perfect companion! With his social and friendly demeanor, Dobby is sure to capture the hearts of everyone he meets. He has a playful spirit and thoroughly enjoys games like tug of war and playtime with toys, as well as snuggling up with you on the couch for some quality downtime.

Dobby is a keen adventurer and loves car rides. You'll find him eagerly hopping up into the car, situating himself comfortably before waiting quietly and patiently for you to strap him in. When it's time for a walk, he behaves wonderfully on the lead, relishing every moment of his "sniffari" as he explores the world around him. Forever a foodie, Dobby delights in his meals and should definitely score some yummy treats as part of his positive training.

At his foster home, Dobby's doggy door skills and housetraining have been impeccable. To ensure he's a success in his new environment, his family should embrace reward-based positive training. Advice is available if needed to help ease the transition. Dobby's ideal home would include access inside and out as he pleases, with the added luxury of sharing the bedroom with his people — ideally snuggling up on the bed itself.

Currently living with another smaller dog, Dobby has proven to be a great fur friend, often engaging in lively and silly dog games in the yard. He would love the company of another small, friendly dog, but he can also thrive as the sole pet in a household where his family can spend ample time with him.

Though occasionally excited during play, resulting in some jumping and mouthing, Dobby settles quickly and responds well to redirection. He is well-suited for homes with children over 14 who are kind and gentle and understands the unique needs of a dachshund. This includes avoiding multiple stairs and providing steps for couch and bed access to protect his long back.

As perfect as Dobby is, he does have one small note — a home with a feline resident would not be ideal for him. So, if you're looking for a lively, loving, and comical furry companion to brighten your days, Dobby might just be your next best friend!
