About Missy
PROFILE AND NEEDS IN A HOME
Missy is a beautiful little soul with a big heart. Since arriving in foster care six weeks ago, she’s settled effortlessly into family life and is now ready to find her forever home. Loving, very affectionate, and happiest when close to her humans, Missy is the kind of dog who just wants to be by your side.
She’s currently living with three other dogs and gets along wonderfully with them — she's social and never fazed. Missy must be rehomed with another social, friendly and well-adjusted small dog who is happy to share their human love with Missy, as Missy just loves to make it all about her as any self-respecting poodle princess should!
Like all of our dogs, Missy must have access inside and out of the home at all times and be allowed on the couch for cuddles. Missy sleeps in the bedroom on her carer's bed and she must be allowed to do the same in her new home.
Missy enjoys her daily walks and does great on a lead. Once she’s built trust with you, she’s confident off-lead at the park and will return when called. Missy has been perfect with all visitors, young and old. She just creates her safe space and will sit on your lap.
Missy travels well in the car, though she does need to be safely secured as her separation anxiety can make her restless. That said, she is improving with time and patience. She would thrive in a home where there is always someone home and also include her in outings — she simply loves human company.
At night, Missy sleeps soundly through without a peep, especially when she’s tucked up in bed with her humans.
She is mostly toilet trained and will go when prompted, though there have been the occasional indoor mishaps as she adjusted to her foster home. Your home will be a new environment for her so you will have to set her up to succeed using only positive and reward based training methods.
Missy is a delight — gentle, cuddly, and incredibly people-focused. She deserves a loving home where she’ll be part of the family and cherished as the loyal companion she is.
If you would like to meet Missy, please email us at sasrescue@gmail.com with some detail on yourself and the home you are able to provide including, your dog and any other pets (if any), family members, lifestyle, exercise and mental stimulation you will provide, how often Missy would be alone, where she will have access in the home, where Missy would go if you went away and could not take her with you and any other information you wish to provide.
