About King
King requires the following in his in home:
King has had a back leg amputated, this doesn't slow him down, he has medium energy levels but may need regular rests and suitable activities.
- Toys, especially soft ones, he just loves them.
- Another desexed playful dog.
- To be allowed inside when his people are home, he just wants to be a part of your life, and to sleep inside of a night
- A fully enclosed secure yard.
- King would love his people to be home regularly.
- Continued training with walking on lead.
King absolutely LOVES soft toys, and you will often find him with a teddy in his mouth! He has his favourite today Meerkat, which he came to us with and it’s so cute watching him love them.
He often plays with our dog Ryland and loves a game of tug of war or chasing each other around in the backyard. (He’s quite fast for a three legged dog).
King is definitely a people dog and absolutely loves to dote on humans. He will nudge you for a pat or paw at his fellow humans to let you know he wants some loving.
King doesn’t jump, and he is a great at letting you know when someone approaches his home. He will sit by the window and watch people walk by and alert barks to let you know someone is there. He is very good at listening and if you tell him to stop, he will. He wants to do best by his fellow humans.
King hasn’t been around children since within our care.
King is a fine traveller in cars he does get a bit nervous. However, he is absolutely great and just needs some reassurance.
King knows how to wait for his food patiently before meal times and understands ‘off’ and ‘on your bed’ he also knows ‘out’ for outside. If you mimic barking at him, he will bark along with you!
King is toilet trained.
King sleeps on his bed next to our bed and in the mornings he sleeps on our bed, he loves a good cuddle!
We have two cats one who is a kitten and he LOVES them. He will nudge them at times to play and our cat will play with King; extremely placid around cats.
King does need some training to walk on a lead, he gets over excited and will pull.
He’s met other people who’ve come into the home and welcomed them with open paws. King is a loving and friendly human lover dog. If you’re looking for a best friend who is a protector and lover, he’s your boy! He will need slow introductions with other dogs.
This little man has been through a lot and still has so much love to give. He will make an amazing companion and best friend.
