About Douglas
Douglas's requirements for his new home:
- Douglas will be best as the only dog living in the home.
-No small animals.
- A home where he gets to be inside with his family when they are home and to sleep inside of a night preferably in his peoples bedroom.
- A securely fenced backyard.
- To be walked where he has plenty of space away from other dogs.
- Continued training as a way for enrichment and bonding.
- His people home more often than not.
Introducing Douglas, a super friendly boy looking for his forever home as an only dog.
Douglas absolutely LOVES people - he's never met a person he didn't like. He's friendly with everyone and really loves snuggles with his humans. He will gladly sleep with his humans if he's allowed, but is also happy to sleep next to their bed on the floor. He would like his people around most of the time.
He is eager to please and is very smart. Douglas already knows how to sit, shake, walk gently on lead and he is relaxed on car rides.
Douglas will let his family know when he needs to go outside to toilet and will even bark over night to let you know when he needs to go, but with a change in homes Douglas may need to be regularly taken outside to toilet and may have a few accidents until he gets to know the home better.
Douglas is great around children 8 years and older, he needs to be walked by an adult.

Douglas loves the company of humans and loves nothing more than a cuddle. He is very affectionate. He will make the best companion/addition to his new family.
Douglas is being fostered in a home with other dogs, but he doesn't like meeting new dogs, so he needs a home with no other dogs and to be walked in low dog traffic areas.

Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home musr attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care or we will assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition thst you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
