About Margot
Meet Margot, a pretty and sweet-natured Rottweiler mix, born on September 17, 2023.
Margot's gentle charm is undeniable. While initially a little reserved, once she snuggles her way into your heart, her outgoing and affectionate personality shines through. She loves being around her people and loves playing with other dogs. Margot is extremely dog friendly but does not like cats.
Margot has all the basics down pat but sometimes forgets herself in her excitement and can jump up to greet you which makes her unsuitable in a home with small children. Margot does like to "talk to you" sometimes if you aren't patting her or following what she would like you to do. She is a woman that knows what she wants.
Margot is terrified of the vets. For a big brave looking dog, she is fine for the vet to pat her but once they touch her with a needle she cries. But hey who isnt scared of needles?
She has been to the vet several times to investigate a limp she had in her left leg limp. It has been x-rayed and showed nothing wrong with it. The specialist recommended a 6 week course of antibiotics to rule out a joint infection which has improved the limp.
She has started on rose hip powder which has improved it to the point it is barely noticeable. She is able to run and play with her friends but prefers a calmer, gentle companion.

Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
If you are interested in one of our cats or kittens, please click on the green "Enquire about ...", button, tell us a bit about yourself and the home you can offer the cat, and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
