About Livy
Our senior girl Livy is ready to find a quiet retirement home.
Livy is now 9 years and 10 months old.
She is a very gentle and well behaved older Greyhound who can be a little cautious at times. She loves to meet new people and dogs although boisterous dogs can make her a little unsure.
Livy loves to go for a walk and walks well on the lead without any excessive pulling. She is happy to go for a short walk of 15 minutes or a walk of up to 1 hour. Livy also enjoys playing with her toys and her human but her favourite thing is pets and cuddles. When she wants attention she will give you a nudge with her nose or if you are sitting she will rest her chin on your lap. She will however, leave you alone if you tell here ‘finish’.
Livy is not completely house trained she still has the occasional accident but we think that a doggy door would solve that problem. Livy will choose to toilet outside, but if the door is shut she will not come and alert you that she needs togo outside to toilet.
Livy knows a number of words including
Doggy dinner. Treat. Chicken neck. Inside/Outside. Collar on/Collar off. Coat on/Coat off. Finish (Petting has finished). Down (get down off bed etc). No. Go for a walk. Have a wee. Stay. Here (Come here). Going shopping (her foster carer say this when going out without her). Nothing for doggies. (Foster carer say this when the dogs follow him to the fridge or kitchen and he is not going to give them a treat. He will also use it if they are watching him eat. But like any Greyhound she can be a bit stubborn and you may need to tell her a few times.
Livy has not had the best life in the past and may take some time to fully trust you however, once she does she will show you what the love of a dog means.
Livy is flea and worm treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped. We would love for Livy to have a loving, quiet home in her twilight years. Her adoption fee is $250.00

Adoption details
We like to take the personal approach where a person sends an email of interest around an animal and then we will follow up with phone discussions and email exploration through a survey.
Please note we are a small group of volunteers that balances the administrative side with the care of the animals.
Please only apply for one of our animals if you are genuinely interested in them.
We expect the prospective owner to travel to meet the animal and we are open to trial periods to ensure we have the match right.
