About Murphy
Meet Murphy!
About Murphy
Murphy is a goofy and affectionate 5-month-old puppy with a mix of Kelpie, American Staffordshire Terrier, American Bulldog, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Boxer, and Whippet. He's a bundle of energy and joy who expresses his drive through games like tug, fetch, or flirt pole play.
Personality & Energy
Despite his high drive, Murphy is a medium-energy pup who's happy with a daily routine that includes:
- A neighbourhood walk
- An engaging game (tug, fetch, flirt pole)
- A couple of training sessions
- Daily socialisation to new environments, people, etc.
Murphy is a total cuddle bug! He loves laying in your arms upside down like a baby (especially when he was smaller). During the day, you'll find him snuggled up in "his" camp chair.
Living Situation
Murphy lives with a neutral adult dog who's teaching him the ropes of being a dog. For Murphy's continued learning and harmony, a similar adult dog in his new home is a must. Murphy is good with kids over 5 years old, but with younger kids, he's a bit too rough because they remind him of his squeaky toys.
Training & Skills
Murphy is:
- Toilet trained
- Crate trained
- Learning loose-leash walking
- Knows commands like sit, down, roll over, place, hand targeting, and recall
- Graduated puppy school and attends weekly classes with other dogs
- Working on not jumping on people (big improvement!)
Ideal Home for Murphy
Murphy would thrive in a home with:
- Humans over 5 years old
- A resident, well-socialised dog to help teach him good habits
- An active family who can meet his daily needs for play, training, and socialisation – so he can chill and snuggle on the couch at night.
Are You Murphy's Match?
If you're an active family with a well-socialised resident dog and you're looking for a loving, playful pup who's also a cuddle bug, Murphy might be the perfect fit!
