About Koko Bean
Our delightful and charming Koko Bean is now eagerly awaiting her forever home, ready to bring joy and companionship to a lucky family.
Who can resist the allure of a chocolate Labrador?
Koko embodies the quintessential traits of her breed, exuding an infectious enthusiasm and a zest for life that is truly captivating. She is a confident little lady, a genuine bundle of puppy joy and energy, who is sure to bring smiles to everyone she meets.
Koko, being the true Labrador that she is, has a deep appreciation for food. Itâs no surprise that mealtime is one of her favorite parts of the day.
In addition to her love for food, Koko enjoys playing with her canine friends and engaging in various games with her toys, whether itâs a game of tug-of-war, chasing after a ball, or simply frolicking around.
While she does enjoy cuddles, she often prefers to be up and about, engaging in playful activities.
Koko is a social butterfly and is eager to befriend anyone she meets. She can be a bit excitable and tends to jump up, but she is diligently working on her manners, particularly learning to sit before receiving pats.
She thrives on human interaction and loves to play with her people.
Like many puppies, she can exhibit some mouthy behavior when overly excited, but she is learning to manage her exuberance.
While she will happily snuggle up in your lap for some affection, her preference is often to be actively engaged in play. She settles well on her mat for resting
Koko is at the beginning of her training journey, and as we know, dogs require guidance and commitment to develop good manners.
Her new family will need to be dedicated to her training to help her grow into a well-behaved adult dog.
She has already mastered the âsitâ command and is learning to wait at doors, go to her mat, sleep in her crate, and do her business outside.
She has also become quite adept at jumping into the car and travels well. Currently, she is walking on a harness or a long leash to practice recall, which she is improving at, especially when food is involved as a reward.
As a puppy, Koko believes that every dog she encounters is a potential friend. She can become frustrated and bark if she is unable to approach another dog, so she is working on improving her social skills through engagement and training. Sheâs a quick little learner
She currently lives with three adult dogs and is learning to respect their individual personalities. Koko enjoys rough-and-tumble play, so we are seeking a home with another dog, preferably a male, who can match her playful energy and tolerate her puppy exuberance.
She has been introduced to a cat but tends to view it as a playmate, so if she is to be rehomed with a cat, it should be one that is accustomed to dogs.
Independence and Companionship: Koko does not enjoy being left alone outside without company, so it is essential for her to be rehomed with another dog. She will bark and cry if left on her own, highlighting her need for companionship. However, she is content and happy when she has company and can spend time outside while her family is at work.
True to her Labrador nature, Koko has a hearty appetite and loves her meals. She is fed twice a day with high-quality puppy food, and her food motivation makes training an enjoyable and effective experience.
Koko has the typical Labrador coat, which means she will shed to some extent. She has experienced a bath and handled it well. As a puppy, she is not yet fully toilet trained and may have occasional accidents indoors. However, with regular outdoor breaks and encouragement, she is improving. She is taken out early in the morning around 6 am and again at 10 pm, and there are nights when she manages to stay accident-free.
Koko sleeps soundly in her crate throughout the night. She is taken out for a bathroom break before bedtime and has a puppy pad in her crate, which she occasionally uses. She rarely cries in her crate, and if she does, she quickly settles back down.
Koko enjoys car rides, as they often lead to exciting walks. She has mastered getting into the car but is still lifted down due to her young age.
Koko is a busy bee and loves to keep up with the adult dogs. She enjoys running and chasing them, so a yard where she can indulge in some zoomies is a must. She requires daily walks and continued exposure to new experiences to keep her stimulated and happy.
Inside the home, Koko is generally well-behaved. Sometimes she barks for play with her pals, just puppy excitement
She will rest on her bed but, like any curious puppy, may occasionally get into mischief by stealing items. It is recommended that she is supervised when indoors to prevent any unwanted antics.
Medical History:
Koko has undergone surgery for an inverted vagina, which, if left uncorrected, could have led to frequent urinary tract infections. She has healed well from both her desexing and vaginal surgery. She has had 2 sets of puppy vaccines and is up to date with parasite prevention
Ideal Home:
Kokoâs ideal home would be one with another dog that has the energy to keep up with her playful nature. Older dogs may not be suitable.
A home with a reasonably sized yard is important for her to enjoy her playtime. Additionally, a family committed to her training and development would be perfect for this spirited little girl.
Adoption Criteria
We feel Koko definitely needs another dog friend as she thrives in the company of others and having a mentor BFF but we would be seeking a playful dog who has great social skills , great energy and can manage a young developing puppy. Games and antics .
A good size yard with secure fencing, shade and shelter from the elements and her to have indoor outdoor access .
Cats in the home would be fine as she is young enough to learn
Children in the home are fine as long as they are dog savvy and kind
A home that will take the time to train and keep her well socialized throughout her entire life so she can mature into the best dog she can be. Please be mindful we do not recommend busy off lead dog parks as a great place for positive experiences for ANY dog on all occasions.
