Yu-Gin was found abandoned on a pile of rubbish in Altona, trying to survive on the streets. Luckily, a kind-hearted member of the public stepped in and rescued him, bringing him to safety and into the care of Cat People of Melbourne.

This gorgeous white-and-black boy with his black tail and kissable pouty lip is a solid little unit—muscular, stocky, and built like a tank. But despite his impressive frame, Yu-Gin is all love on the inside. Loyal, mellow, and incredibly affectionate, he adores human company and is happiest when he’s close to you.

He’ll come in for face pats, flop on his back for belly rubs, and even pat your cheek with his big soft paws when he’s feeling especially connected. Yu-Gin is food-focused thanks to his rough start, but his real love is people—he’s not interested in being besties with other cats, though he can co-exist with the right one.

Yu-Gin would suit a calm home with a gentle routine, either as a solo cat or with a cat-friendly dog or chill feline who won’t hassle him. He loves children and would make a beautiful emotional support cat for someone who’s home often and needs a quiet, loving companion.

To adopt from us you'll be required to have minimum an online meet & greet, a remote house check, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Our animals are fully vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being advertised. They are evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and any known issues are communicated. NOT NEGOTIABLE CONDITIONS: indoor only/restrained to property & must be fed raw or vet prescription wet food.
We will communicate through every step of the process to ensure that the experience is excellent and your feline companion is the right fit. Read the contract for T&Cs for returns.
You must have residency in Australia to adopt from our group. If you are visiting or on a visa, talk to us about fostering instead!
