Chevy 🚗 Chihuahua x Dachshund (On Trial 13/6/25)

If you are looking for a cuddle buddy and a little shadow then Chevy is your man. He is an active 10 year old, Chihuahua x Dachshund, who enjoys a game of fetch and loves his walks. No matter the length or location, he just likes to get out.

🐕 He will happily follow his nose anywhere and walks well on a lead.

☕ He’d be a good city and café companion. On a busy street, he is calm and non-reactive to loud noises or other dogs. He has been out to a cafe and sat quietly while we ate. He is people curious and will accept pats calmly.

🚗 He will happily get in the car and is fine for local trips but isn’t particularly comfortable with long journeys.

🐶 Chevy would be happy as an only dog, provided his human/s are around more often than not. He could also live with other dogs because he gets along well with the other small dogs in his foster home.

🏠 Chevy is very much an inside dog because he loves to be with you. He prefers to sleep in the people bed were he burrows right under the blankets and sleeps peacefully most of the night. He is house trained but may have an accident inside if stressed. With a gentle reminder and guidance he is generally pretty good.

🐾 Chevy wouldn’t enjoy a busy household with children under 12. He isn’t suitable to live with cats, indoor birds or pocket pets.

🌞 Chevy was surrendered to Dog Rescue Newcastle because his family couldn’t find a rental which allowed pets. He is a healthy, adorable and ready to begin the next chapter of his life. Small dogs of his breed live to an average of 15 years so he will have lots of time with his new family.

✅ Chevy’s Ideal Home:
Chevy is looking for a patient owner who will give him space and time to learn to trust. He likes to do life on his own terms. While he is very affectionate and loving, he also needs his own space sometimes. He does not like over handling or being constrained or confined.

💖Chevy would thrive with loving, gentle people. He will be the most devoted companion and café companion you could ever ask for. He will brighten your days and warm your heart. Chevy is waiting to meet you! 💙

Chevy is in foster care in Cooranbong, NSW (southern Lake Macquarie). His adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas, worms, vet checked, and microchipped.
