About Diesel
Meet Diesel, a very well-mannered and affectionate Wolfhound mix whose capacity for loving humans of all shapes and sizes is boundless.
Diesel's father was a Wolfhound and his mother was a somewhat smaller dog, breed unknown. He weighs 35 kgs.
Due to a change in family circumstances and through no fault of his own, Diesel was very reluctantly surrendered to us by his devoted family, who've had him since he was a tiny pup.
Diesel is an exceptionally social and affectionate dog, making him a true family companion. He adores kids, having been raised with a good few of them, and enjoys romping around with other dogs, big and small. He thrives on human interaction and is happy to extend the paw of friendship to newcomers, whether they are visitors to his home or people walking by his front fence. He loves everyone!
A quiet dog, Diesel will only sound the bark alarm if it's appropriate to do so, such as when someone unknown comes onto his territory. Aside from those occasions, he is not a barker, but he does enjoy a chat. If you say to him, "Diesel, take those muddy paws outside", he'll walk away, grumbling as he goes, as if to say, "Gosh, that's a bit rough, Mum..."
His outgoing personality extends to other dogs but he is untested with cats.
Although Diesel doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body, he will protect his family. On a recent occasion, he perceived that a backyard game had got out of hand, so he planted himself between the older visitor and his human brother, aged four. When a Wolfie says "that's enough", people tend to take notice, and that's exactly what happened in this case.
Diesel is comfortable on a leash but, being a country boy, is not accustomed to going for regular walks or visits to the dog park. But wherever you are, he wants to be there, too.
He is house-trained, making him an ideal addition to any household.
With Diesel, you will get a loyal friend, a discerning protector, a cheery conversationalist and a dedicated family member.
Secure fencing is essential, as always.
