About Sally - 18 Month Old Italian Greyhound x
🐾 Meet Sally – A Sweet Soul Looking for Her Forever Home🐾
Breed: Italian Greyhound x Fox Terrier (possibly Jack Russell in the mix)
Age: 18 months
Weight: 4.3 kg
Sally is a gentle, shy little girl who’s had a bit of a rough start in life — but she’s full of love for the right people. She’s looking for a calm, quiet home where she can continue to blossom at her own pace.
💕 Personality:
Sally is loyal, cuddly, and incredibly sweet once she trusts you. She can be wary at first, especially with men or new people, but she truly bonds deeply once she feels safe. She’s also a bit of a snuggle bug — her Favorite spot is right next to you under a blanket or curled up on the bed.
🏡 Sally’s Ideal Home:
- A low-stimulation household — quiet, stable routines are her happy place.
- Women-only or a gentle couple (she gravitates to women and can be slow to warm up to men).
- No other pets or young children.
Someone home more often than not.
-A home with patience and understanding for a dog who’s learning how to be confident.
🐕 Sally’s Quirks and Needs:
- Still working on toilet training — she prefers going on fluffy things like towels, and may do well with fake grass mats.
- Resource guarding tendencies may emerge — a two-person home could help with confidence building.
- Loves tug-of-war, playing “chase” around the house, and her Mr Fox rope toy.
- Good recall and interrupt cues – she knows her name, responds to whistles, and “Find It” is a great redirect.
- Needs more training on sit/stay and lead manners.
- Not food-motivated, but cooked chicken or sausage can help during training
🚗 Other Bits to Know:
- Car travel: A good little passenger, though she always vomits once at the start — then settles and sleeps.
- Vet visits: Nervous but manageable. She does better when wrapped in a blanket to feel secure.
- Takes medication (Trazodone & Gabapentin) twice daily to support her anxiety.
Sally is in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW. Her adoption fee is $800, and she is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and lifetime registered.
