About Socks
Meet Socks, a gentle and timid soul who’s currently beginning to unfurl his personality in a nurturing foster home. Since late May, Socks has been on a journey of adjustment, slowly learning to trust and explore his environment at his own pace. Though on the shy side, Socks shows clear signs of curiosity and gradual adaptation in his foster care setting. With a bit more time and patience, Socks will no doubt blossom into a loving and devoted companion.
Socks spends most of his time in quiet contemplation, finding solace in his safe spots away from unfamiliar noise and activity. Equipped with a Feliway diffuser to help soothe his nerves, he occasionally emerges when the world is still to eat, drink, and explore at his leisure. This delightful tabby firmly believes that any bond worth having is best built slowly, by giving him space to feel secure enough to let his personality shine through.
Ideal for a calm and serene household ready to offer patience and understanding, Socks is looking for a compassionate family willing to embrace his pace of life as he gradually becomes more confident. Whether he’s tip-toeing around in the comforting shadows or spending quiet moments peering inquisitively at the world around him, Socks is on his way to rewarding the love and care he receives tenfold, for those with the willingness to offer a bit of extra time and affection.

Adoption details
Please do not apply to adopt via our animals' PetRescue profile.
Follow the links below to be directed to the Wollongong City Council website, and find your preferred animal's online profile.
Once in the online profile, scroll down and click the link to complete an adoption application. Once received, a member of our team will be in touch to discuss your application and suitability for your preferred animal.
If we deem the animal to be suitable for your home and lifestyle, an in-person meet and greet may be organised. Should your meet and greet be a success, you can take your new furry friend home that day or following their desexing surgery. Our team will manage all your animal's paperwork, including ownership and vaccination documentation.
