About Timmy
Well, hi, how's it going people? I'm really hoping you've clicked on my bio and ready to read.
I am Timmy, a gorgeous loving 9-month-old Miniature Dachshund
I am looking for a best friend but also someone who like my independence and allow me to simply walk to the beat of the music that plays only in my head!
I have come into care as my breeder knew that there was something about me that made me unique and wanted to make sure that I could be screened effectively thru a rescue.
My foster mum says that while the vets have checked me over and completed all my vet work and i am alert, and healthy and fun loving I just walk to my own beat sometimes in my head.
Sometimes I will simply stop in the middle of what I'm doing and just simply stare up in the sky or even at a wall, then just go back again to doing what I'm doing.
It does not hold me back at all!
I am currently with some other dogs - small dogs are my favorite and while i can take a few days to stop being unsure I love to have a play and a wrestle with another small breed but have been known to stop in the middle of the play and go have a nap.
I would love a home with another small breed dog who will be my friend and play with me but also just let me snuggle up with them and snooze.
I love fluffy toys and fluffy beds and fluffy blankets - yep there is a bit of a theme there.
I love a good scratch behind the ear and a cuddle but not a huge fan of being picked up, so you need to let me come to you when I want one. My foster mum says I'm a pretty cruisey guy with that.
I can be nervous meeting new people but if you give me some time I am very happy to then come up to you and say hi, or just hang near you. I don't need to be all over you and would prefer a home where I can cruise.
My foster mum says I'm pretty quiet most of the time but I can forget my inside voice and bark at another dog to play with them or for them to chase me but I'm usually a quiet boy.
I love to follow my humans around and I will follow you thru the house and keep an eye on what you're doing, and then next you turn around I'll be outside sniffing or playing!
I am used to kids
I am not cat tested but my foster mum says that I'm pretty chilled so will probably just want to be their friend.
I am also toilet trained except sometimes I don't like to go outside first thing in the morning or when its raining but if you come out with me I'm happy to then do my business - it's one of my quirks!
I am not lead trained but that is something that my future family could work on.
I don't need someone home 24/7 but hey I would enjoy having someone home or works from home or a mum and dad who are stay home but that's just for some company and love but if you did work and I was home with my fur siblings I would happily sleep my day away and then explore outside when I want too while your off working.
So, if you're looking for a gorgeous boy who loves some of his own space and walks to a gorgeous, sweet beat (in his head) then apply now!

All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.
Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
