If you enjoy the company of an adorable stickybeak who follows you around the house or garden trying to lend a paw, Mome Rath is your guy! He is a cheeky cuddle monster with big smiles, who will have your heart in no time.

Mome Rath is a happy, easy-going boy who is extremely dog and people friendly. He has previously lived with farm animals (chicken, sheep, ducks and cows) and shown no interest in them from the other side of the fence.

He loves de-fluffing his soft squeaky toys, chewing on his Nyla chew bone, relaxing in the backyard and napping at his foster mum’s feet while she works from home. He also absolutely enjoys snoozing on the couch next to his foster mum while Netflix-ing and wakes up every so often to keep up with the storyline. His foster mum says he has the softest fur which feels like velvet!

Mome Rath is a huge fan of car rides. He will first look out the window for a few minutes then fall asleep and enjoy the ride.

He is a quick learner, good with routine, playful, energetic (with an ability to switch off as required), not aggressive and receptive to commands and your vibe. It is a huge positive that he hardly barks.

Being a young boy, he is still learning to keep all 4 paws on the ground so ongoing training will be beneficial.

Although he is much bigger compared to the resident fur- sisters, he lives extremely well with them and doesn’t mind sharing his toys and bed. He has shown no signs of food aggression or resource guarding and trusts his people. Some supervision (separate feeding areas, etc) at dinner time will be helpful if you are feeding multiple dogs at the same time.

Mome Rath would love to go to a home with a similar sized dog as being quite a young dog, he enjoys a good run around and playing with his doggie mates. As his energy levels are moderate, he would be happy with a medium sized backyard with regular visits to parks, beach walks, hiking trails and all other adventures you could possibly think of. He has the potential to be a good off-lead dog with training.

He walks well on lead which is a huge positive however, ongoing training with someone who handles him with confidence will be beneficial as he is quite intuitive. Being a quick learner, he is good with commands like sit, go to bed, no, come here etc and to wait for his food and treats and knows how to follow a routine.

Mome Rath sleeps through the night on his bed and is responding well to toilet training with access to an outdoor area. Continued toilet training and maybe training to use the doggy door will really help him to have a good mix of indoor and outdoor time. He is best suited for a home where he is included in activities, adventures, and everyday life as much as possible.

Teenagers or upper primary big dog savvy kids will be good for Mome Rath. Not tested with young children although he should be fine with them after sufficient training and supervision.
