Hello there, my future forever human — my name is Delia, and I’ve been waiting just for you.
I’m a sleek, soulful-eyed Kelpie girl with a heart as big as the paddocks I dream of running in. Born on June 20, 2016, makes me a wise and wonderful lady.
I’ve got the experience of a grown-up, the heart of a pup, and a love for life (and you) that runs deep. I may be a working dog by breed, but my biggest job—the one I’ve thrown my whole loyal little heart into—is being your shadow, your best mate, your evening TV buddy, and your loving companion.

Kelpie folk like me, we thrive when we’ve got a job. If I don’t have sheep to muster or tasks to complete, don’t worry—you become my job, and I’ll take it very seriously. I'll follow you from room to room like you're the most important thing in the world (because you are), then curl up next to you and snooze contentedly while you relax. I don't ask for much—just to be where you are.

I’m a medium-energy girl with excellent indoor manners. I’m quite content to lie by your feet while you work, and I’m not one to destroy things or misbehave when left inside. But when it’s time to stretch out, ooh boy, I love a long gallop through the grass! A decent-sized backyard or even a securely fenced portion of a farm would make me the happiest girl alive. I do have springs in my legs—so you’ll need proper fencing, not just a flimsy wire job.

I’m very endearing (so I’ve been told), a little goofy, and definitely clever. I already know how to sit, I come when called, and I’ve got excellent food manners. I’m motivated to learn and love a challenge, so if you’ve had experience with Kelpies before, we’ll be a great match. You’ll understand my quirks—like my tendency to "round up" anything that moves—and my deep desire to feel useful.

I’ll be honest with you—I'm best as your one and only. I like other dogs well enough at a distance or during a solo stroll, but I prefer not to share my home or my people. I’ve had a few disagreements with my foster sibling, and while I’m polite on lead (as long as no one gets in my face), off-lead my herding instincts take over. Cats? Probably best not—I haven’t been tested, but my instincts say “chase,” and I listen to those a lot.

As for small animals like chickens or rabbits? I find them... interesting. Too interesting. Let’s just say I’d prefer a home without any of those fluttery, feathery types.

I’d do best in a quiet home with a mature family—people who understand my loyalty, my sensitivity, and my need to be part of your world. I don’t need constant stimulation, but I do like to know someone’s nearby. I’m fine when you head out for a while, but I’m the kind of girl who thrives with a person who’s home more often than not.
