About Derek - 8 Week Old Fox Terrier X
Derek is an affectionate and loving little puppy who will melt your heart. He is an active, daring pup who is confident and bold while still loving a snuggle and cuddle. Derek loves exploring and adventuring in his new garden and has puppy energy to play with his siblings. He is an adorable puppy who is fearless and super smart. Derek is your typical puppy who is still learning by experimenting and testing everything.
Since being in foster care, Derek has started to toilet train and play with his older sister having gained confidence and security. Derek loves to run around the yard and explore all the garden beds. This gives him exercise and wears him out. It also helps him sleep through the night.
Derek currently lives with 1 large adult dog and his sibling.
Derek wants and needs proper training and therefore must have a family or person fully committed to spending time with him and training him properly. This will mean he becomes a well-balanced, sociable and polite puppy with impeccable manners.
Derek has the soft, short coat that you would expect from the Foxie breed. Usual life expectancy for breed is up to 16 years.
Derek’s yard needs to be complete, ready for a puppy with permanent fixtures in place. The yard must be cleared of rubbish and choke hazards, with no small gaps in the fences or gates. Under the house must be blocked off, and no soft soil where he could dig out to escape. Please don’t underestimate the gap size a puppy can get through.
Derek in brief:
- Weight 2.3kg
- Working on house training, uses pee pads and grass
- Needs a safe and secure yard
- Needs a family home often whilst she is a puppy
- Kids over 8 please
- Not tested on cats, bunnies’ birds etc
In his new home Derek would love:
* Fur friend, but not necessary.
* Doggy door to continue toilet training
* Yard to run and exercise in
* Daily walks
* Chew toys
* Healthy food
*A human who loves to snuggle, cuddle and kiss
Derek’s adoption fee is $900 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. He has had 1 vaccination, been treated for fleas, ticks and worms, and is microchipped.
Derek is in foster care in Ryde, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he's 5 to 6 months old.
