About Theodore
Hi, I’m Theodore – but you can call me Theo! I’m a sweet, affectionate little poodle cross with a big personality and an even bigger heart. I’m looking for a calm, loving home where I can get plenty of attention, regular exercise and lots of cuddles.
I’d thrive best with an older person or a couple who enjoys walking and can give me the love and time I need. I’m a lap dog at heart, I adore pats, cuddles, and just being close to you. I live half inside, half outside, and I’m used to being left at home both ways. But fair warning: if the bin is accessible, I may go treasure hunting for scraps!
At the moment, I eat urinary care biscuits morning and night, as I have previously had bladder stones. Whilst these have been surgically removed to prevent re-occurance, my owners opted to keep me on this diet as an additional precaution. But it's mainly because I can be a bit food-obsessed, and may lose my manners when tasty temptations and human food are around.
I don’t shed, and I don’t have that typical doggy smell either – perks of my poodle side! I get groomed every 4–6 weeks, but I’m also happy for you to give me a tidy-up at home. My ears and nails just need a bit of attention every couple of weeks. I will come with my 2x different Clippers so you can do this at home, as well as my blankets and leads etc.
I love to play fetch and soft snuggle toys help me settle down. I rarely chew things I shouldn’t, only a few minor slip-ups. I'm currently a 50/50 indoor outdoor dog, I’ll let you know when I need to go outside by whimpering or scratching at the door. I know how to sit, lie down, and wait for the ‘OK’ before I eat. I even do a little poodle dance when I’m excited to see you – which is pretty much every time you walk through the door.
While I’ve been around dogs of all sizes and I’m fine with kids, I don’t really respond to younger children. I’m more of a grown-up’s best mate. I might have a touch of anxiety (not vet diagnosed), but I don’t need medication, I just need love and reassurance.
This isn’t an easy decision for my current family, but they truly believe I deserve someone who can give me their full attention and affection. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to share your days with, I might just be your perfect match.
Love,
Theo-
