Anyanka, or Anya as she’s affectionately known, is a breathtaking all-black beauty whose fully grown, fluffy coat is simply glorious. Her soulful eyes tell the story of a cat who has faced challenges but is now finding her confidence and learning to trust again.

Anya came into care in February 2025 as a scared young mum with three tiny kittens, having survived life in one of the colonies our rescue manages. In the colony, she was often picked on by bigger, more dominant cats. But in the safety of care, she has flourished—raising her kittens, gaining weight, and gradually revealing her affectionate side.

These days, Anya asks for pats and, if she wants more, will gently try to take your hand back, especially for head and ear scratches. Watching her grow more confident each day has been a joy—she’s calm, observant, and full of quiet sweetness.
