About Maggie
Marvellous Maggie is ready to embrace her retirement, and she is putting the call out to find the person with the comfiest couch and the softest bed!
Maggie had lived with a very elderly lady who has sadly passed away.
Unfortunately, her owner was unable to provide the care that Maggie needed, and she came into rescue with lots of medical issues.
Maggie came to us with awful, untreated skin problems. She had red, inflamed, thickened skin and had lost most of the hair on her legs and on her tummy from chronically scratching. Thankfully, this has improved and whilst her recovery is ongoing, her treatment is now complete.
Maggie also had terrible dental disease which resulted in most of her teeth having to be removed. Whilst this may seem confronting, Maggie managed to eat a normal diet without any problems.
Maggie also had a lump on the back of her right hind leg, and this has since been removed.
Despite everything she has endured, Maggie is a sweetheart. Her hearing is not great, and we suspect that she is a bit cheeky and can be a bit selective in what she actually hears but we believe that she is mostly deaf.
Maggie is great with other dogs and friendly with people. Although we do not know her exact age, our vet believes that she is around 10 years old. She could be even older or slightly younger but without any paperwork or microchip information, it is impossible to tell.
Maggie is definitely a senior and her needs reflect that. She loves to snooze on the couch during the day (her foster carers have steps for her to use to get up and down) and she likes to sleep on the foot of her humans’ bed at night.
Like all retirees, Maggie likes to potter around. She doesn’t need lots of exercise or entertainment, just a safe, loving home to spend her days.
Maggie would love a home where her humans are home most of the time, but she is fine to be at home alone while you are out.
Can Maggie retire with you?
