Loki

Loki is a big-hearted pup who narrowly escaped the pound and has been learning how to live again in foster care. At 18 months old, he’s still very much a teenager — playful, energetic, and full of personality — but also very sensitive.

We believe Loki hasn’t always been treated kindly by humans, which has left him unsure in some situations, but when given time, patience, and kindness, he opens up into the affectionate, goofy boy he truly is. He’s loyal, silly, toy-obsessed, and full of love for those he trusts.

Loki isn’t a café dog or a social butterfly — and that’s perfectly okay. Not everyone wants to be in the spotlight or have a busy, busy life. Some of us simply want a loyal sidekick who’s happiest following us around the yard, snoozing at our feet, or sharing our time. That’s where Loki shines.

He’s looking for a peaceful, low-pressure home where he doesn’t have to navigate busy neighbourhoods, new dogs, or lots of people all at once.
His ideal home would include:
• A quiet larger yard or semi-rural space with room to run, sniff, chase his ball and be your shadow.
• A secure yard with privacy from other dogs.
• Possibly a calm, confident dog companion — Loki enjoys his doggie mates once he knows them and feels safe.
• A person who understands that not all dogs (or people!) enjoy a very social lifestyle, and that’s ok.

Loki can be reactive to unfamiliar dogs. It’s likely a mix of fear and frustration. With slow introductions, he happily lives and plays with two dogs and two cats in foster care.

🏡 Loki at Home:
Loki is crate-trained, sleeps inside, and can stay home during the day with toys and music for company. He’s smart, food-motivated, and already knows sit, drop, and wait. His recall is very good. He loves toys, fetch, and backyard zoomies. Loki is affectionate, gentle, and a true shadow — always nearby, toy in mouth, ready to hang out.
