About Parker
Introducing Parker!
Parker is a Staffy x born approx 18th November 2024.
Parker was brought into the facility as an unmicrochipped stray and sadly no one came looking for him.
When Parker first arrived at the facility he was incredibly shut down, however it didn't take him long to find his flailing feet. You might be asking why I described them as "flailing feet".. well our boy Parker is incredibly excited by life and he shows his excitement by;
1) Walking on his hind legs, with his front legs waving out in front of him like blind man trying to see
2) Bouncing from one spot to another with no regard of what or who is in his way
3) Randomly throwing in an energetic play bow when he sees anything that may resemble a toy, person or other animal
While we do love Parker's enthusiasm, we have started to work on harnessing his excitement and have found he will sit if you have a squeaky toy or a tasty treat. Be sure to have multiple treats though, because his "sit" lasts mere moments before his excitement become too powerful for him to hold back.
Parker tested quite well with other dogs, however he has no concept of proper socialising behaviours & just wants to bounce all over them. We understand that this can be overwhelming for some dogs. We believe Parker would be suitable to live with other dogs, or be the spoilt only "child" at home. If you have another dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
While Parker hasn't shown any signs of aggression towards cats or pocket pets, he is a VERY excitable boy who wants to bound & play with everyone & everything he sees. We feel that he could be too overwhelming for smaller animals until he's had a bit more training & socialising with them, however we are open to discussing this on a case by case basis.
He still has so much to learn about the world and would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family. Parker will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Parker has shown no signs of food aggression towards humans, however he hasn't been tested with other animals.
Parker has shown very mild signs of separation anxiety, where he will whine for a short amount of time, then he settles himself & is fine from then on.
Parker's adoption fee is $600 and includes his desexing & lifetime registration.
Parker is also regularly treated for flea and worms and he has had his first vaccination.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
