About Hiccup
Hiccup update!
Update
This stunning boy is now 5 months and is big for a kitten, weighing in at the 3kg mark. He still loves to hunt, play and nap. He still wants kisses and cuddles in bed at night. He knows what he wants, and will let you know if he is unhappy. Especially if you're trying to trim his claws. (Recommend a full body wrap) His diet is more a good balanced dry food than anything else as he turns his nose up to wet food most of the time.
His long whiskas and tuffs of white in his ears stand out against the black tuxedo shining coat, with the grey tipped fur on his tail. He is truly stunning and two times the size of the kitten that is one month behind him. He is a gentleman to steal your heart.
Hiccup, male, gorgeous black and white with flecks or grey and liquid amber eyes, medium hair kitten.
Available from 30th May.
He has been regularly wormed, flea treated, desexed, microchipped and had all 3 start out vaccinations.
Hiccup is a neo natal kitten who came to us approximately at 2 weeks old, we have dated his birth as the 4th Feb 2025. His mother left him at a garage near a Castrol tin. He was given the name hiccup, because he use to hiccup after his bottle.
He struggled with latching and had some bowel constipation, which is why we guess his mum left him, but once that was sorted he progressed by leaps and bounds. He has been toilet trained with an enclosed kitty box, and paper based kitty litter with no door from 2 weeks old, he is fussy and requires it cleaned at least twice a week, but has no problem using one. Only other place he has ever gone was on a puppy pad.
He has had full run of our house but recommend that he starts out in new home with one to two bedrooms.
He has been in a temperature controlled home, so may require some adjusting and extra care around this in his new home. Very spoiled.
He is a very clean little boy who self gromes, and will also clean the floor at his food bowls by sweeping back towards his bowls with his paws, even if nothing is there. He will also sweep paper cat litter back to box if it comes out on his paws with him. Unless it's clean and good to play with.
He loves his dry food (royal Canin kitten) and will eat that more so than wet food, he started out on royal Canin mum and bub kitten wet food as well, but has mixed it up with tiki kitten (loves this brand), than recently whiskas, fussy cat and purr kitten varietys. He has also had Friskies kitten dry food mixed into his royal Canin, and doesn't mind this either. He has also been introduced to kitten milk, but loves his fresh water more.
He is a energetic independent little man, who loves to hunt, which he does enjoy a good game of mouse catch on the iPad. Much to his disappointment this is for a limited time that he has the screen.
He loves to play with a variety of toys and climb cat towers. Either independent or with his siblings from other mothers in care. He will do well with a multi pet household.
He has grown up with two older male cats, two female dogs, and two other kittens. The dogs are his other mummies, so he is very trusting with them., and will also sleep with them.
He has had brief times with primary aged children but he has had more time with adults. Not recommended for families with children under age of six.
He likes gentle play and quite.
When we have had visitors he will slowly come out, unless he is already extremely busy with play, then nothing fazes him. Loud noises scare him and he will run and hide.
He gets the zoomies through the house at around 11pm, but will settle down within 30 minutes for bed. Unless he has had play time earlier than he just settles.
When he becomes tired he is a snuggler and enjoys kisses, cuddles and pets and will happily sleep on top of you especially for the night. But is also happy for a comfortable bed on a raised area, with a blankie.
He has had a soft crate since coming into care and will still happily go to it to sleep, of his own will as well. Would highly recommend one for him as he feels safe in one with a very fluffy and plush blankie.
He has a good purr motor, but he hardly ever meows, but he can, it is just soft meows generally. Mostly used in car travel.
He has set feed times of 7am, 12 noon, 6pm and 10.30pm. he will need this feed time for a while yet. We recommend a good nutritional dry food at least for the rest of his life since he was a neonatal. We are sure he will grow into a biiiigggg boy. His fur is super soft like a silk and he loves a good brush unless he is busy. (So many things to do)
While in care he has had an adult with him nearly 24/7. More recently he has been left with other pets approx 1-2 hours every 3rd day. So he might not do well if left home alone for long periods.
If he sounds like he will fit into your life/family please contact Robyns nest.
