About Sitka
Meet Sitka! 🐾
Just like his namesake from Brother Bear, little Sitka is the gentle, wise soul of his litter. This fluffy tabby kitten has a calm, loving presence that brings comfort to everyone around him. He may be small, but his heart is huge-always looking out for his siblings during playtime and offering soft purrs when it's time to settle down.
Playful and curious, Sitka loves to explore his world with quiet wonder, much like the elder brother who guided others with kindness and strength. Whether he's chasing a toy or snuggling in for a nap, Sitka carries a peaceful spirit that feels like a warm hug. He's more than just a kitten-he's a little guardian in fur, ready to bring love, comfort, and a touch of adventure to his forever home.
To book a meet and greet with Sitka please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
