Elvira knows she's beautiful.

So much so, in fact, that she'll be incredibly offended if you dare to try to touch her (your hand will be met with a swift swipe of her paw. Claws out).

This gorgeous, fluffy girl came to us pregnant and requiring medical treatment, having spent her first 2 years living in a drain under a supermarket carpark. She's perfectly healthy now, but hasn't quite adjusted to life off the streets the way most of her colony-mates have.

Hisstress of the Dark isn't just a cute play on her name – it's her lifestyle. She'll hiss, spit and smack the ground to shoo you away if you dare look at her. No matter how prepared you are for it, it's a guaranteed jump scare.

HOWEVER!

Although this hissy queen is currently touch-averse, we believe she has the potential to become less reactive with some dedicated 1:1 time and attention, and possibly the company of a friendly feline who can teach her that humans aren't that bad (and neither are pats).

Fancy yourself a cat whisperer? We need a patient, caring and strong-willed human to foster Elvira, to help her learn how to relax and enjoy life indoors. If you're able to step up and tame this black beauty, we're sure she'll become a wonderful companion.
