About Nyssa (was Snow)
Adoption Type: Foster with the view to adopt
Snow is a quiet and sensitive girl who is just beginning to discover the world beyond the only life she has ever known. She spent her entire life on a breeding property where she lived outdoors and was not exposed to human affection, home environments, or walking on a lead.
She arrived in care very shy and unsure of people, but she is slowly making more friends at the shelter. Snow is starting to get comfortable with being handled and is now seeking interactions from her trusted humans. While she's making tiny bits of progress, her path will be slow and steady.
Snow needs a very quiet, adults-only home where her foster-to-adopt carers are home full-time. She is not ready to be left alone and will need a carefully planned transition to help her feel secure. Snow may be suitable to live with a gentle, calm dog, pending a meet and greet at the shelter.
Snow will need:
- An experienced, patient carer who understands fearful dogs
- A very quiet home with minimal comings and goings
- Slow, positive exposure to new experiences
- Minimal exposure to new people, places, or stimuli in the first few weeks to avoid overwhelming her
If you can offer Snow a peaceful, understanding environment and the time she needs to find her feet, she will reward you with trust that's deeply earned and forever cherished.
