About Sasha
Adoption Type: Foster with the view to adopt
Sasha is a beautiful Japanese Spitz who is just beginning her journey into a whole new world. She spent her entire life on a breeding property, living permanently outdoors and never experiencing life as part of a family. As a result, everything-human interaction, homes, leads, even basic routines-is new to her.
Since coming into care, Sasha has shown her resilient spirit. She's gaining confidence and has started seeking out pats and attention from people she's come to trust. She's still learning what it means to be safe, but her sweet and social personality is beginning to shine through.
Sasha is looking for a quiet, calm home where her carers are home full-time, to slowly help her adjust and build trust at her own pace. She is not yet comfortable being left alone, and a gradual, gentle introduction to independence will be key to her success. Sasha could live with respectful secondary school-aged children, and may enjoy the company of a friendly dog, pending a meet and greet at the shelter.
Sasha will need:
- A patient, gentle foster-to-adopt home
- Support with exposure to lead training and indoor living
- People who can be with her throughout the day
- A calm environment with predictable routines
- Minimal exposure to new people, places, or stimuli in the first few weeks to avoid overwhelming her
If you're ready to help a special girl take her first steps toward a loving life, Sasha is ready to meet you.
