Merve is the biggest sweetheart that loves nothing more than to be by your side (or on top of you!).
He’s an active little guy that loves to play, go for walks, snuggle up on the lounge and just be involved in what you’re doing in any way. He enjoys playing with toys but is most excited when just getting a pat, belly rub or cuddle.
Merve spent a long part of his short life in the pound. But it hasn’t taken long for him to come out of his shell in his foster home with his foster family. He’s quick to learn and eager to please. So far, Merve has learnt to sit, lay, touch and is working on his recall with the help of his foster brother. He loves to be outside and walks well on the lead but can become overstimulated by other dogs. He is still only a puppy so his forever family would need to be patient and dedicated to continuing his training and socialisation.
Merve can get very excited when you get home and wants to give lots of cuddles and kisses. He’s learning not to jump but for now would be best suited to families with children 8-10+.
Merve would best suited to an active family that would allow him to be welcome inside the home. Whilst Merve is okay to be left alone, he does have some separation anxiety, especially at night time. We have found that with time he is improving when left alone during the day, and tends to sleep once he has calmed down.
During the night, if sleeping alone or in another room, Merve will be anxious and unsettled at first, and can bark or whine due to his dislike of being separated, however every night he has gotten a little bit better. I’m sure Merve would be absolutely stoked to sleep in the same room as some of his forever family, as after his time at the pound, all he needs to feel happy and safe is some loving company.
Merve is in foster care in Warabrook, NSW and is available for adoption to NSW, ACT, QLD, Victoria. His adoption fee is $700. He is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas, ticks and worms, microchipped and lifetime registered.
