Meet Sophie - Sophie is a sleek, black-furred sweetheart with the softest meow and a heart that's just beginning to open. This lovely girl came into care after being surrendered, and at first, she was understandably very scared and overwhelmed by all the sudden changes in her life.

After some time in care with gentle affection and patience, Sophie has slowly started to come out of her shell-and what we've seen is something truly special. She's been showing us her affectionate, smoochy side with cheek rubs, full-body pats (she'll lift her tail and bum right into your hand!), and the cutest little meows and chirps when she's feeling comfortable.

Sophie will need a patient and understanding adopter who recognizes that new environments can be scary for her, and it may take her a little while to settle in and feel safe. Once she does, her loving and chatty nature will shine through. A calm, predictable home would be ideal, and older children who can understand and respect cat body language will be the best fit to help Sophie thrive.

Sophie has been quite hissy and unsettled around other cats in the shelter, so she'd prefer to be the only feline in the home, where she can be the center of your world and soak up all the love for herself.
