About Rufus George (60897)
Rufus George has been waiting patiently at GAWS for his second chance, and he's more than ready to leave shelter life behind. Like many long-term residents, Rufus has experienced some shelter stress and is eager to settle back into a real home environment. Rufus is full of love and enthusiasm-so much so that his constant happy tail wagging in the kennel led to "happy tail," resulting in the amputation of his tail. Now sporting his adorable little stump, Rufus hasn't missed a beat and expresses his joy with full-body wiggles that are guaranteed to make you smile. In a home environment, Rufus is a fantastic companion-he is affectionate, settled, and toilet trained, and truly thrives when he's part of the family. He loves being around his people and will happily soak up all the attention you have to give. Rufus is looking for an active, adult-only home, as his enthusiasm and energy would be too much for young children. He would suit a home where his humans are around more often than not, as he can struggle when left alone for long periods and thrives on companionship. He is very social with other dogs and may benefit from a well-matched canine companion to help keep him company and burn off energy. However, Rufus is not suited to a home with cats or small animals. Rufus is a loving, loyal boy who just wants a chance to be part of a home again. If you're looking for an affectionate, fun companion and can give him the time, structure, and attention he needs, Rufus could be your perfect match.
