About Sage
Hello, my name is Sage and I am waiting with love and cuddles to give to my new family.
I’m 2 year and 2 months old and a fairly chilled-out girl, although I have my playful moments if you’d love to have a play with me.
I’m very easy to please – just give me some belly rubs, let me lay out in the sun for a while each day and then we can finish each day cuddling on the couch.
I’m a super friendly girl, and although my foster family doesn’t have young children, they think I’d be good around all kids because of my welcoming nature. I can sometimes be a little shy when new people come over, but I warm up quickly to anyone who is kind to me.
I have been around many other dogs and get along well with all of them.
I have not been tested on cats
I have been crate trained and am happy to take myself into my crate to have a sleep. I also love sleeping on the couch.
I am comfortable using a doggy door so would love to have access between inside and outside during the day.
I enjoy going for short walks and am still learning not to get too distracted when on a lead – its just so exciting to be outside in the fresh air strolling along with my favorite humans.
I’m a great eater – in fact, food is a great way to teach me new habits. There isn’t much I won’t do for a yummy treat. I’ll make some very cute little noises for you when I see you preparing my dinner. Eating is one of my favorite hobbies!
I’m fairly quiet at home. I may bark when I’m startled but I stop quickly once I’m told to be quiet.
I’m 6.3 kilograms of dachshund sweetness. I am toilet trained but may have an occasional accident overnight.
If you’re looking for a happy girl who will greet you with excitement and love every time you arrive home, then I am the girl for you.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
