About Zora
Zora, meaning new dawn, is the perfect name for this bright, resilient young pup. She’s confident, curious, and bursting with love and playful energy. Despite a heartbreaking start to life, Zora hasn’t let it dim her spirit—she’s on the road to a remarkable transformation, inside and out.
Zora came into our care after being found abandoned in a backpack at a vet clinic—hairless, sore, and suffering from a severe case of mange. She was in rough shape, but her strength and spark were clear from the start. Thanks to lots of love and care, she’s healing beautifully and now well on her way to a full glow-up, with her soft new coat starting to grow back in.
This sweet girl is the perfect balance of affectionate and independent. She loves being near her people and curling up on the couch for a cuddle, but she’s also happy to entertain herself with toys and will often settle herself to sleep when she’s tuckered out—though a gentle reminder never goes astray!
Zora is smart, food-motivated, and eager to learn. She’s toilet trained, mostly leash trained, and already mastering basic commands. Like most puppies, she’s still learning her manners (jumping up and mouthing during play), but she responds well to gentle guidance and is making progress every day.
She’s not a morning pup—Zora enjoys a good sleep-in and snoozes peacefully through the night. Once she’s up, though, she’s full of life, zoomies, and curiosity. She thrives with physical activity and mental stimulation, and she’s happiest when given space to explore and games to keep her mind busy.
Zora would love a home with room to run and a family that enjoys having her close. While she’s very people-focused, she also benefits from having a quiet place to rest when she’s feeling overstimulated—she’s working through a bit of FOMO and learning it’s okay to take breaks. She’d do best with children over 8 who understand puppy energy, and another friendly dog would be a bonus—especially one who can help her learn the ropes. That said, she’d also thrive as the only dog in a home where someone is around most of the time. She hasn’t met cats yet, but with slow introductions, she may do just fine.
Zora is a joyful little character, curious, cheeky, and full of love. She’s been known to chase vacuum cleaners, wheelie bins, moths, and even ocean waves. She’s ready to bring that same joy and energy into her forever home.
If you’re ready to give this brave, beautiful pup the fresh start she deserves, we’d love to hear from you.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
