Ron, Ronnie, Ronald McDonald…whatever you want to call him this goofy guy is as sweet and cheeky as they come!
Ron came to NQAR after spending months in a regional pound. Despite this rough start to life he is a happy, sociable dog who loves people and other dogs.
Ron ADORES affection and follows his foster fam around for cuddles and pats - he never gets tired of them! He would gladly spend all day in your lap if he could. He sometimes gets a bit to eager for love and will jump up or push himself into your lap, but responds well to correction. Ron is currently living with a toddler, he is mostly pretty gentle with her but sometimes gets a bit too excited and knocks her over in play - therefore a home with older kids would be ideal until he’s trained out of these behaviours.
Ron is sharing his foster home with two senior dogs both male and female. He respects their space but loves to engage in chasey play when they are up for it. If he needs to amuse himself he’s happy to do so with a plush animal or rope toy - although he’d prefer to play tug of war or catch with you! He’s happy to run around for a bit and then chill out for a snooze. Ron would love another active doggy friend to do zoomies with, as he’s a super social guy.
Ron loves his walks and his on leash walking is improving everyday. He knows some basic commands such as ‘sit’ , ‘stay’ and ‘out’. Continued training and firm boundaries will help this boy become the best dog he can be - he is very food motivated and eager to please. Ron has a good bark on him and will be sure to alert you if there’s someone around. He has been an inside/outside dog in foster care and is well behaved indoors.
Ron will suit an active home where’s he’s included in everyday life - he is so keen to be part of the pack. If you’re looking for a social, loyal fella that will be your constant shadow, Ronnie is your guy!
Ron is $350 to adopt and comes desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative), and given flea/tick/worm prevention.
