About Archie Dog
Village Tails is thrilled to introduce you to Archie, a bouncy ball of pure joy currently chilling in Burpengary, North Brisbane.
This handsome lad is approximately 7 months old and we reckon he's a delightful Cattle Dog x Pointer mix - a recipe for a super smart, super playful pup.
Archie is fully prepped for his forever home. He's vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, and up-to-date with all his flea and worming treatments. We're also happy to report he's heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $595.
This sweet boy is a real character. He's happiest when bounding around with his foster sisters, showing off his impressive speed and enthusiasm for ball and frisbee chasing. He's a regular little pocket rocket.
As his confidence grows, his true nature is really starting to shine through.
Archie's hobbies include: mud-wallowing, puddle splashing, and engaging in epic water droplet chases during garden-hosing sessions.
His paddling clam is his absolute favorite toy EVER! Beach trips? He's all in!
He's mastering the art of fetching, and "sit" is slowly but surely becoming part of his vocabulary. He also enjoys a morning carrot to keep those pearly whites sparkling. 🥕
Life with Archie means never being alone. He follows his foster family from room to room - privacy is officially cancelled (even during toilet breaks).
He currently shares his foster home with a very dignified 7-year-old Ragdoll cat. While Archie is interested, the cat has firmly established boundaries (apparently, personal space is a thing). Archie is learning to admire him from afar, so no cat aggression, but any feline housemate will need to be assertive!
Toilet training is about 90% complete but there may still be an occasional "oops" moment.
He loves running around the yard with his kelpie foster sister, so a securely fenced yard is a must. This boy could dig to China if given the chance (strategically placed dog poo and secure fences are currently winning that war).
Archie loves cuddles in bed and on the lounge, but is equally happy exploring the great outdoors.
He's currently teething, so pigs ears and bones are essential to keep him from redecorating with his teeth.
He's working on lead training, and while he's easily spooked by traffic noises and barking dogs, he's making great progress!
Archie has a typical Cattle Dog zest for life, boundless energy, and is embracing family life. He will make a loyal and loving companion to the perfect family.
Important Consideration: Archie appears to be fearful of children, so we are looking for a home with older teenagers rather than young children.
He also needs time to warm up to new people, so patience and understanding are key.
Could you be the perfect family to launch Archie into his best life?
If you think you can offer him the stimulation, engagement, ongoing training, and appropriate boundaries he needs, please contact Village Tails and tell us all about yourself so we can see if you are indeed going to be a perfect match.
He's waiting to fill your life with love, laughter, and maybe just a little bit of mud! 🐾
