About Izzie
At just 20 months old, this velvet eared sweetheart is all puppy energy and play, but when her curious mind is satisfied and her physical exercise needs are met she will soon show you her snoozy side and the couch potato that she is destined to mature into!
A "take anywhere" dog, Izzie loves to be out and about with you, whether it is running errands or having a drink at the pub, she is very well behaved in public spaces. Her foster carers report that she can stretch a whole work day (with access to toilet) when needed, but she also adores her adventures and is a social girl who could easily be a office or shop dog, accompanying you to work and "snootervising" all the activity.
If there's one activity Izzie loves best, it is snuggling. If you are at her level she will push her head right into your chest to request cuddles. She's a physical contact girlie and enjoys all the love and attention that you have time to give. Izzie's 110% Be Best Friends energy is something that does need a little work, she is just a baby after all, and she will need a home committed to teaching her not to jump in excitement and to calmly sit on her bed when visitors are around. She has already picked up the "on your bed" cue in foster, and enjoys learning new things and working with her people on training - so long as there is yummy food rewards and lots of praise of course!
At her age, Izzie is still working through the usual puppy things, like learning not everything is a chew toy - and working out how to coordinate all her limbs at once. She does like to curate collections in her bed from found objects so will need a home with clean bench tops and the patience to trade her for the goodies she has helped herself to (in order to keep her comfortable and confident with giving over these treasures, we don't want resource guarding to develop as a result of items constantly being removed from her).
A perfect fit for a range of lifestyles and homes, Izzie could be your one and only, or a wonderful addition to a family with a medium to large canine - she has so much potential just waiting to be unlocked by patient people who will delight in helping

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, some can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour.
As a result we look to rehome dogs into households where they are not left on their own for more than 4 hours per day on a regular basis, without either people or another dog for company. We are happy discuss strategies such as a dog walker or doggy day care. Going to work with you is also a great option

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
